Monday students will be introduced to a Dream Destination project using technology. Students will use I Pads and take selfies of each other in different poses.
Tuesday students will finish taking photos and upload them to their student ID folders. Students will research at least 5 dream destinations that they would want to visit including a landmark that would explain their destination.
Wednesday through Friday students will begin following the step by step instructions to edit their selfies using Pixlr.com photo editor. Students will save their work to their student ID folders.
Students will have 1 more day to cut their blocks.
Tuesday students will practice printing.
Wednesday students will be given a large piece of paper. They will have to fold paper into 6 sections to create a space for each print. Students will work on making 6 prints carefully centered within each space of their paper.
Thursday students will add the elements of color and value using water color pencils/paints.
Friday students will turn in their projects and take an I Respond assessment about Linoleum Block Printing.
Monday students will begin carefully using lino cutters to carve their transferred designs into their lino-blocks.
Tuesday students will continue carving into their lino blocks following their transferred designs.
Wednesday is a half day. Only 6th period will work on cutting their designs into their blocks.
Thursday and Friday will also be slow, careful cutting days.
Monday students will learn about linoleum block printing.
Tuesday students will learn about Celtic Art and symbols. Students will begin researching Celtic animal designs for their prints. Students will save their images to their student ID folders.
Wednesday students will continue to research and finalize saving and sizing images for their print. The total size of their block image can be no larger than 5" x 4". Students may print images of symbols and animals as long as the design fits within that size range. Students will print edited and sized image.
Thursday students will use graphite to draw on the back of their print. They will place the print on top of their lino block to trace.
Friday students will complete a work sheet about artist Marc Chagall.
