Monday- Wednesday students will gather recyclables to build their armatures.
Thursday students will wrap their armatures with foil or newspaper.
Friday students will begin adding papier mache paste to their armatures.
Students will learn about the art of the Oaxacan people. Students will brainstorm ideas for a Oaxacan inspired animal sculpture.
Tuesday students will begin sketching 3 points of view of their animal (front, back and side view).
Wednesday students will complete their sketches and use problem solving skills to determine what recyclables will unite to create the shape and form of their animal.
Thursday and Friday students will gather and begin assembling their armatures for their sculptures.
Monday through Wednesday students will add the element of color to their Pop Art Candy Wrappers.
Thursday students will work on craftsmanship by using colored pencils to straighten lines, fill in areas and bring details back into their work.
Friday students will self-assess using their rubrics and turn in their art work.
Monday students will choose one point of view of their candy wrapper that they like the most. Students will sketch the design on black paper. Students will go over their pencil lines with a white or yellow colored pencil.
Tuesday students will finish outlining with colored pencil and begin adding color and value using colored pencils or chalk pastels.
Wednesday and Thursday students will finish adding value and color.
Friday students will complete their candy wrappers and turn in with their names on the back in bright colored pencil.
