Monday we will complete our Unique Color Wheels and work on corrections to our Color Hand outs. Students that finish early can work on a Art Elements work sheet.
Tuesday students will take their color assessment by going to Kahoot by clicking on this link: play.kahoot.it/#/k/26ee4711-7608-415a-97c0-0f3dc896f5c6.
After students complete their assessment, they will go to the 8th grade tab on the menu on this website. They will view the Art History Memes and vote on their favorite. They will vote using the contact page and adding their name and the number of their favorite meme. Students will need to give a reason for their choice.
Wednesday: students will use I Pads to find examples of 3 elements of art in the classroom. They will create a Pic Collage with the title of the element and different characteristics of the element.
Thursday: Students will use the I Pads and work in pairs to find examples of the principles of design. They will create a Pic Collage for at least 2 principles of art. It will include the title of the principle and characteristics of the principle. We will share them in class.
Friday: Students will play Art Pokemon Go!
6th grade students will continue to paint their tertiary colors in 7th period art on Monday. 7th period will begin brainstorming ideas for their Unique Color Wheel designs.
Tuesday 6th period will begin brainstorming ideas for their Unique Color Wheel designs. Period 7 will begin creating their template for the object or design they created. They will draw the design on construction paper and then cut it out. They will trace it within each section of their color painting.
Wednesday students should be ready to cut out and arrange their templates onto black construction paper. They will glue them down once they decide on final placement.
Thursday we will be learning about the 7 elements of design. We will use I-Pads to capture examples of each element and create at least 3 Pic Collages with the elements of their choice.
Friday we will learn about the 7 principles of design and use I-Pads to capture examples. Students will use Pic Collage to create an example for at least 3 principles. Students will share their collages with the class.
Students will learn about the color wheel on Monday and complete a work sheet on color. Tuesday students will begin a Unique color wheel project. Wednesday students will begin painting their templates with primary colors. Thursday students will mix and paint their secondary colors. Friday we will begin to mix and paint our tertiary colors.
Welcome to Art Class! Now that we have the schedule complete, we will get to know our classmates in art class. We will go over classroom rules and procedures on Monday and participate in an activity to talk about "What art is" and "What art isn't".
Tuesday we will talk about our "art goals" for the year. We will look at some of Mrs. MacJack's art work.
Wednesday we will make a design for our folders using the elements of line, shape and color.
Thursday we will start to color our folders.
Friday we will finish our folder designs.
Welcome new 6th grade students! On Monday, we will be meeting in the Auditorium to go over important Fine Arts information to get everybody involved at Barber! We will transition according to our rotation schedule to the Art room.
We will engage in a "pretend Museum" activity to learn about the aesthetics of art. We will examine works of art in groups and place a symbol that best fits each work on the table beside the image. We will have 8 rotations. We will discuss the ratios of each selection for each work of art.
Each 6th grade class will participate in this activity daily.
