Monday students will learn about sculpture by watching real world application of skills in a pumpkin carving competition.
Tuesday students will begin painting their sugar skull pinch pots.
Wednesday we will finish painting pinch pots.
Thursday students will take an assessment covering clay and dias de los muertos.
Friday students will prepare their artwork for display around campus.
Monday students will be learning about Greek Amphora vases. Students will exam a work of art and answer questions about the aesthetics and meaning of the art work on the amphora.
Tuesday students will use the Disney Hercules movie as inspiration to design a story for an amphora.
Wed-Friday students will draw their designs on an amphora template.
Conference Week schedule:
Period 6 Tuesday: Students will create their own Dias de los Muertos Sugar Skull drawing.
Thursday: Students will learn about Greek art and architecture by viewing the Disney animated classic, "Hercules".
Period 7 Monday: Students will create their own Dias de los Muertos Sugar Skull drawing.
Wed and Friday: Students will learn about Greek art and architecture by viewing the Disney animated classic, "Hercules".
Monday and Tuesday students will continue to watch "The Book of Life" to learn about traditional Mexican customs involved in the dias de los muertos celebration.
Wednesday students will learn how to create a double pinch pot with clay.
Thursday students will begin to create their double pinch pot sugar skull.
Friday students will add designs and details with clay tools.
Monday through Friday students will be working on their "What's Your Story?" project. Students had many formats to choose from: Photography, poetry, mixed media visual arts and video. Students are required to bring in needed items for video and photography.
