Students will create an asymmetrical design on a 6" x 6" square. They will use tracing paper to trace over their design so they can transfer it to a 12" x 12" paper in 4 quadrants. Students will be painting analogous, monochromatic and complimentary color schemes in different quadrants.
SLO testing was canceled last week, so we will test Monday and make up tests will be Tuesday. We will begin exploring color theory and complete exercises to practice using monochromatic color, analogous color and complimentary color. We will begin creating asymmetrical designs using organic and geometric shapes, color and line on Friday.
Students will be learning about the Feldman Method of Art Criticism this week. We will be SLO Testing on Wednesday and make up testing on Thursday.
Students will begin a project about self identity. They will brainstorm for words or objects that symbolize things that they like. They will create a collage with magazine, newspaper and copied images. We will learn about organic and geometric shapes. Students will choose an organic shape for the background of their Identity Collage. Students will critique each others collages to figure out who each collage belongs too.
Friday we will be learning about the Feldman Method of Art Criticism.
