Students will learn about the Feldman Method of Art Criticism. They will view works of art from several artists. They will use the 4 steps to talk about each image.
Students will choose to create work inspired by Andy Warhol or Roy Lichtenstein. Students will lightly draw out their work on final drawing paper. They will render their work with markers or colored pencil. Art work is due Friday along with the Assessment and Reflection hand out for the project.
Students will complete 2 a "Pop Culture" hand out and a textbook hand out Monday and Tuesday. Wed. we will begin to look at Pop Art. We will view works by Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Richard Hamilton, Claus Oldenburg and David Hockney. We will begin a Pop Art Food composition in the style of Andy Warhol or Roy Lichtenstein. Students should complete 3 sketches of different foods. They should begin their final drawing by Thursday.
Students will be adding the illustrations to their frame template for their Manga Graphic Narrative. They will also add color with colored pencils. These are due Friday March 13th.
Due to the weather, students will be working on their story and character in the beginning of the week. Students will work on 6 sketches to illustrate their story focusing on spatial concepts: proportion, foreground, background, color schemes and details.
Students will start their final drawing by completing a template of their frames first, then start adding their illustrations.
