Students will continue to work on their Op Art designs this week.
Friday students will review elements and principles of art.
Students will finish drawing their Op Art Hands or Op Art Sphere designs, lightly with pencil.
Students will go over the lines of the Op Art Hand drawing with an ultra fine tip sharpie. Students completing the Op Art Sphere design will outline each section of the checkerboard and sphere with a regular sharpie.
Wednesday students should be ready to add the elements of color and value to each section of their designs. Colored pencil should be used lightly so value can be added to show shadows in each section.
Thursday students will complete a hand out to help students Identify the Elements of Art.
Friday students will complete a hand out to help students identify the Principles of Design.
Students will choose which Op Art technique they would like to use to create an optical illusion. Students will follow the step by step instructions on their hand outs to lightly draw their designs in pencil first.
Wednesday through Friday students should begin adding the elements of value and color to their art work.
Monday students will finish making Gyotaku fish prints.
Tuesday students will add their symbols and element of value to their paintings.
Wednesday I will not see period 5 due to Milestones testing. We will begin learning about Op Art.
Thursday I will not see period 4 due to Milestones testing. We will begin learning about Op Art.
Friday students should be working on their Op Art exercise hand out.
Students will view a presentation about the ancient art of Gyotaku fish printing. Students will create their own prints on Tuesday. Each student will have a fish print on paper and a fish print on muslin.
Wednesday through Friday students will add the element of color using water color paints. Students will also add a Japanese symbol to describe their fish.
