Monday we will be finishing up our digital abstract color wheel project in the computer lab.
Tuesday: Kahoot assessment on color. Please click on the link to take the assessment. Use your first name and last initial for your player name.
After taking the assessment, students will view the Art History Memes in the gallery page of this site. They will vote on their favorite meme by writing the number in the contact page and sending it.
Wednesday:Students will learn about the element of line. They will create a sketch using line and shape to create the principle of movement.
Thursday:Students will learn about the Artist Stephen Wiltshire and engage in an activity to draw from memory.
Friday: Students will play Art Pokemon Go!
Monday 7th grade students will finish their Water Smart Art compositions. Early finishers will create unique tattoo designs.
Tuesday students will view a presentation about color. Students will answer questions on their hand out during the presentation. They will color their color wheel portion of the hand out and turn in at the end of class.
Wednesday students will learn how to use the Pixlr.com photo editor to create an Abstract Color Wheel. They will create their own organic shapes or research a contour drawing of an object to save to their student ID folder and upload into Pixlr.
Thursday and Friday students will continue to work on their digital Abstract Color Wheels. They will add 12 organic shapes or objects copied and brought into the application as a layer. They will add color to each shape or object in the order of the color wheel. They will use their hand outs to help recall the order. they will save their work to their Student ID folders.
We will continue to work on our Water Smart Art projects. Monday through Thursday students will use watercolor paint, chalk pastel and colored pencil to render their compositions. Friday will be the last day to work on this project. We will put the final touches on our art work.
Students will be learning about water conservation in class on Monday. Students will be writing a brainstorming list of reasons why water is important. Please include at least 10 reasons. We will go over these in class. If assignments aren't completed within the class period, please finish your list for homework.
Tuesday we will start work on creating a concept or design using the list from Monday's class. We will use technology to get references images if needed.
Wednesday we learn about foreground, middle ground and background. We will incorporate these concepts in our sketches for the Water Smart Art contest.
Thursday we will continue to sketch out our designs.
Friday we will continue to sketch on final drawing paper and begin to add the elements of color and value.
Welcome back students! Monday we will look at different art comics and choose one that best describes how we feel in the art room. We will then write, "What art is" and "What art isn't" on a sticky note. We will discuss our answers as a class and then stick them on the 7th grade cabinet. We will also view Mrs. MacJack's art work.
Tuesday we will go over classroom rules and procedures. We will have a name tag to fill out our "Art Goals" for the year. We will discuss them and then attach them to the paper on the wall on the kiln door.
Wednesday, we will be learning about our "art interests". We will choose 6 questions from a slide we will view in class. We will draw a symbol for each answer to the questions. We will share them in class.
Thursday we will be designing our folder for class. We will create a design using the letters of our name to fill the entire surface of the front of my folder. I will be creative with the shape, color and design of each letter to make it interesting to look at.
Friday we will finish our folder designs and color them.
