Last week we had to let our creatures dry a bit before continuing the process of building with the ultra mache.
Monday students will learn about sculpture by watching real world application of skills in a pumpkin carving competition.
Tuesday and Wednesday students will finish building their creatures.
Wednesday-Friday students will add the element of color to bring their creatures to life.
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday students will continue to layer their armatures with ultra mache.
Thursday students will add the element of color to their creatures by painting one coat of a base color. The color should be the darkest value of the color they are using.
Friday students will add other details with color to bring their creature to life.
conference week schedule:
Period 4 Tuesday: Students will start to add paper mache to their armatures.
Thursday: Students will learn about Greek art and architecture while watching the Disney animated classic "Hercules".
Period 5 Monday: Students will start to add paper mache to their armatures.
Wednesday and Friday: Students will learn about Greek art and architecture while watching the Disney animated classic "Hercules".
Monday students will work in pairs to design an original creature to be displayed in the Barber Spooktacular.
Tuesday and Wednesday students will learn about assemblage sculpture and how to create an armature with recyclables.
Thursday and Friday students will create their forms using paper mache to cover their armatures layer by layer.
Monday students will finish watching,"The Book of Life". Tuesday students will learn about the traditions of Dias de los muertos. Students will create a rough sketch of a sugar skull or full body calaveras. Wednesday students will decide if they would like to create a full body calaveras in the clothing they wore for their profession when they were living or a symmetrical sugar skull. They can use technology for reference images to enhance their sketches. Thursday students will transfer their rough sketches to final drawing paper by drawing lightly in pencil. Friday students may use colored pencil and marker to add the element of color to their art work.
