Students will learn about the different parts of trees and how to draw them. They will draw from direct observation, starting with basic shapes and adding line to show implied texture.
The trees will be re-drawn on larger paper and painted with black paint to form a silhouette.
Students will add positive character words and phrases in an artistic way to their trees,
Friday, students will view professional sculptors in a Food Network competition carving pumpkins.
Students will be presenting their social justice projects and critiquing their work.
Students will work on a video, poster or photography composition for their group projects for Social Change.
Students will finish up their Social Justice Web Quest in the computer lab on Monday. Tuesday we will be starting our Social Justice/Art for Social Change group project. Students will complete a hand out on Art for Social Change and answer questions to come up with current topics.
