Monday 8th grade students will attend the Spooktacular!
Tuesday and Wednesday students will finish working on their pinatas.
Thursday students will be learning about the artist Frank Gehry and answering questions on the "Singular Structures" hand out. This link will take you to the Scholastic Art magazine:
Friday students will work on a sketchbook assignment to create an original super hero character.
Monday-8th grade students will design their pinatas.
Tuesday students will begin to build the armature for their pinata. They will need a cereal box or a balloon. They will begin the paper mache process.
Wed-Thursday we will continue to paper mache.
Friday students should begin adding the element of color to their pinatas by base painting with one coat of paint.
Conference week schedule:
Monday- Students will finish their non objective art and start to design their pinatas.
Wed and Fri- Students will learn about Dias de los Muertos by watching the animated movie, "The Book of life".
Monday through Wednesday, students will be finishing up the line, pattern and texture on their non objective paintings.
Thursday students will take a Socrative Assessment on Analogous color and elements of art. After the assessment, students will research 5 important facts about Dias de los Muertos. Students will think about different art projects that would relate to the topic.
Friday students will begin sketching ideas for a pinata inspired by the Mexican Day of the Dead celebration.
Monday students will finish adding analogous colors to their paintings. Tuesday and Wednesday students will start adding the element of line and the principle of pattern using sharpies to their designs. Thursday and Friday students will use yarn to add the element of texture to their work. We will be focusing on the principles of movement, emphasis and rhythm during this process.
